When the time comes for your average person to get a next gen format they are gunna look at the names and go for the one that sounds most familiar to them. Most people know what DVD and "HD" means so that will be a big factor in their decision.

Agreed. Anyone that thinks LCDs or Plasma is better needs glasses or has never played a fast paced game on that TV. I used to have a 32" Samsung LCD and after playing Halo on it with my 360 for 2 weeks I decided enough was enough. I bought a Sony GDM-FW900 and never looked back.
Those are Halo 2 Vista screens. NOT HALO 3!
